As this polar air mass modifies southward, it is expected to plunge overnight lows well below freezing in many areas by Sunday morning. This begins with a cold front pushing through Texas Friday. This will gradually drop air temperatures and increase wind speeds.
Time to dig out the coats, Texas. Two cold fronts will hit the state this week, bringing freezing temperatures to certain areas, according to the National Weather Service. The first cold front starts in the evening of Tuesday, January 13. However, a stronger cold front will drop temperatures even more starting Friday.
