NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin's father died from injuries suffered in a house fire Sunday in North Carolina. His mother, who was also home, remains hospitalized. Elaine Quijano has more on how Hamlin says his father's support helped him succeed on the track.

Days after his death, fans of Biffle’s NASCAR legacy and admirers of his work during Hurricane Helene came to pay their respects at his marker on the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame in downtown Moorseville. Bouquets of flowers surrounded the portrait on his marker which was granted to him earlier this year.

NASCAR is closing out the year with one of its most tragic Decembers ever. The latest heartbreaking incident came on Dec. 18 when legendary driver Greg Biffle, his family and some friends were killed when their plane crashed at the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina.
