Apple has released iOS 26.5, fixing a hefty list of over 60 security flaws, many of which are serious. Here's what you need to know.

Apple's iOS 26.5 introduces new security features, subscription options and Maps enhancements, marking a significant update in the iPhone's software evolution.

There's a new iPhone update in for Apple users and if you’re trying to avoid it, we’ve got you covered with a little-known trick. Long gone is the time where all iPhone users were waiting for their phones to update so they could get the benefits of better features.

In addition to new features, Apple’s latest software updates also include security improvements, with over 50 fixes in iOS 26.5 alone.

This is just the same as other iOS 26 updates, that is, it’s for all phones from the iPhone 11 and more recent. The latest models, including the iPhone 17 series, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air, are all covered by iOS 26.4.1. It’s also been released for those users who haven’t updated to iOS 26 in the form of iOS 18.7.8.

A forthcoming update means new features and changes, including end-to-end encryption for texts sent between iPhones and Android phones. Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is just one month away.
