1 killed in hit-and-run crash near Jackson
RIVES TWP., MI - One person was killed Thursday evening in a hit-and-run crash near Jackson. A pedestrian was killed around 9:36 p.m. Jan. 15 in a crash with a car on Lansing Avenue near South Oak Creek Drive in Rives Township, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Firefighters in Jackson battled an overnight house fire. Crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Maple Street shortly before midnight. Fire was visible when firefighters arrived at the scene. Officials have not said whether anyone was injured or what caused the fire. No additional details were immediately available.
