I cheated in my garden. I planted a Boulevard Cypress topiary. One could make and shape their own topiary and it would take years. Instead, I planted an established one to create a statement in this area! When planting a tree or shrub: - Dig a hole roughly 2x the size of the container. - Scarify and rough up the roots to help stimulate new root growth. - Place in the hole with the root flare just above ground level. - Add back the soil and tamp lightly. - Water well to get rid of any air pockets
