Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Deniece Thomas presented Northeast State Community College President Jeff McCord with a $250,000 check Thursday morning as part of the Governor’s Conference on Hospitality & Tourism. The check was presented to McCord to benefit the community college’s new culinary program. Thomas said this marked an inaugural investment for the TDLWD as part of the Tennessee Talent Initiative.
